Nico’s Domain is an independent creative project exploring character-driven software, interactive desktop experiences and original games. From experimental Windows applications to pixel-art visual novels, every project contributes to a growing universe built around Nico.
Who is Nico?
Nico is the character at the centre of everything here: long black hair with vivid crimson highlights, red ribbons, a white frilled headpiece, heart-shaped eyes, a cute fang, and an outfit in black, red and white. She’s the assistant who “owns” NicoOS, the presence in your computer in Nico’s Domain, and — in Nico’s Heart — someone you can actually get close to. Byte, her red plushie, usually isn’t far away.
Software and stories
The software side is called Techdom: desktop programs that let Nico into your computer, each one a little different. The games side tells stories — from psychological horror to pastel romance.
Everything is released on Nico’s itch.io page, and announced on X and the Discord first.
How the domain grew
The early programs
Standalone experiments, each with one idea: a configurable takeover, a real admin-account takeover, a gacha collector, a theming app. Nicoware arrived on itch.io on 22 September 2026.
